Cleaning, Breakfast Service and Dinner
We have revised our cleaning and hygiene procedures and re-trained staff accordingly, following the guidelines from the Peruvian government and Airbnb.
These lengthy protocols include thorough airing of rooms before and during cleaning; more frequent cleaning of objects touched often, such as door-knobs and light-switches and not entering rooms after cleaning has been completed until guests arrive.
Breakfast can be served outside, in your room or in our socially-distanced dining room. Our fruit buffet has been replaced with the option of ordering a bowl of fruit, granola and/or yogurt. Eggs will be cooked to order and orange juice and bread served to your table as always.
Healthcare
Our in-house staff training includes first aid training. We have oxygen available and there are clinics and good doctors in Ollantaytambo who can be called for any worries, from stomach troubles and sprained ankles to more serious complaints. There is no malaria or dengue at this altitude. We recommend acclimatising to altitude at below 3000m before spending nights at higher altitude. Ollantaytambo is at an altitude of 2800m and Machu Picchu Pueblo is lower still.
There are several private and public hospitals in Cusco. Please ensure that you have insurance before you travel.
